Prayer & Medication
No mid-week services tonight since it's Family Week. I trust you are getting together with other families for times of fellowship.

Devotional!

Psalm 140:6 “O LORD, I say to you, "You are my God." Hear, O LORD, my cry for mercy.”

Mercy is the greatest benefit of having God. You are my God, have mercy on me. No other religion makes that claim. All other religions are based on complete obedience to the letter of the law. That is why many of them are becoming such fanatics. They believe they must earn their salvation. We rely on mercy. What a great advantage it is to be Christian. Mercy is so much more loving than anything else is. When we proclaim Him as God we are not only asking mercy for ourselves but also for our nation and world. We want the world to know our God – the result of that will be mercy on all mankind. This is not merely a lifting up of our God – though He is worthy of that – it’s following God’s will in praying for the salvation of all mankind.

When we proclaim Him as God we don’t make Him Lord. The idea here is that He is Lord already and we need to acknowledge that. He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. There is no other God but Him.

Medication: A Merry Heart

Boat Name

My friend wanted a boat more than anything. His wife kept
refusing, but he bought one anyway.

"I'll tell you what," he told her. "In the spirit of
compromise, why don't you name the boat?" Being a good
sport, she accepted.

When her husband went to the dock for the maiden voyage,
this is the name he saw painted on the boat: "For Sale."
