Entering In
God has always had to work with a remnant because the masses will only go so far with Jesus then they draw the line. The servant (doulos) of Christ has no option in these matters. He doesn’t serve Jesus just because he is a doulos – he is a doulos by his own will. He wants to go a little further. He longs for intimacy with Christ subsequently, he has been given the position of doulos.
Many draw the line at a certain point; some will go a little further but then they stop short, and it seems that very few go right into the absolute oneness with Him in His heart, His mind, and His will. God is seeking for those who will be one of His own Spirit, who will go a little further than the rest, then possibly, others will be compelled to go a little further then they had before. Our spiritual condition is revealed by just how far we go with the Lord.
There is a lot of spirituality shown by those who serve God away from the masses. Those families and individuals that show up to clean our church when no one else is around are serving as unto the Lord, because there is no crowd to see them, there are very few accolades given them – yet they serve. The dozen or so ladies who meet and pray every Tuesday morning are actually serving the whole church without any fan fare. It doesn’t matter which position we are referring to – if you are serving because of your closeness to Christ you will continue. If your service is dependant upon the performance of others you will most likely quit within a matter of time, because your proximity is not what it needs to be to enter in.
God has always needed those with a close proximity to Him in order to get the work of God accomplished on earth because the masses won’t respond to Him and yet the work we are involved in is for the masses that won’t respond. Isn’t it amazing to think that only 3 of them went into the garden with Him and yet 120 of them received the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost and 3000 more received salvation on that same day!
The remnant has always worked for the masses. And if it were not for a close proximity to Christ the remnant would have given up long ago for the lack of appreciation.

The Mountain Climber
Johann Strauss was an avid mountain climber who once waltzed
himself into deep trouble. He lost his footing and found
himself hanging by his fingertips over a bottomless gorge.
Another climber heroically came to his rescue and just
managed to grab Johann by a strap of his liederhosen to save
the Maestro's life.
Since then, the act of trying to get out of a seemingly
hopeless situation has come to be known as
grasping at Strauss.
